Wedding DJ FAQs for Port St. Lucie and the Treasure Coast — consults, ceremony, cocktail hour, lighting, photo booths, and booking with DJ Louie G.
What happens on a free Zoom consult?
We meet on Zoom, walk through how we run weddings with real examples, talk timeline and vibe, then send a custom quote. Send the appointments form and we will follow up by email to schedule.
Do you DJ ceremonies and cocktail hour?
Yes. We can provide sound and music for the ceremony, keep cocktail hour smooth for guests, then transition into dinner and dancing. Tell us your venue and timeline on the consult and we will map the night with you.
Can you emcee announcements and special dances?
Absolutely. Louie can emcee grand entrances, parent dances, cake cutting, bouquet/garter, and any custom moments you want highlighted — without making the night feel scripted.
Do you offer dancing on clouds, uplighting, and sparklers?
Yes — dancing on clouds is dry ice on the floor (a low cloud for photos, not fog), plus ceiling wash / uplighting and indoor sparklers as add-ons. Pricing is on the Weddings page and confirmed on your quote.
Can we add an open air or enclosed photo booth?
Yes. With a DJ package, Open Air is $400 / 2 hours, $500 / 3 hours, or $600 / 4 hours, plus $100 each additional hour beyond 4. Prints add-on is +$100 per hour (optional). Enclosed is the prints option (prints included): $500 / 2 hours, $700 / 3 hours, or $800 / 4 hours. Open Air includes props, attendant, custom bottom prints (name/date/logo), backdrop, setup/breakdown, Text or AirDrop, and boomerangs. Booth-only Open Air rates are higher — see Photobooths.
What is Simple But Classy?
Simple But Classy is $1800 for a polished DJ/MC reception core — sound system, light-up booth, wireless mics, mini light show, setup and breakdown, based on 4 hours of event coverage. Add-ons like dancing on clouds, uplighting, and photo booths are quoted separately.
What does a retainer mean — and when are we booked?
We require a retainer to hold the date. Remaining balance is due at our final meeting for the event, when we go over your music and timeline.
What if something happens to the DJ or gear?
We plan with backup gear and coverage so your night still runs. If you want the specifics for your venue, ask on the Zoom consult — we will walk through how we staff and equip the date.
Do you need a certificate of insurance for our venue?
Many venues ask for a certificate of insurance. Tell us on the consult what your venue requires and we will work with you on the paperwork they need.
How do you handle weather and power outdoors?
Outdoor Treasure Coast weddings need a plan for shade, rain contingencies, and clean power. We map placement, cables, and weather backups on the consult so ceremony and reception sound stay reliable.
How fast do you usually reply?
We aim to reply within one business day to emails and form requests — often sooner. We confirm a Zoom time with you by email.
Which areas do you serve?
Florida weddings statewide. We are based on the Treasure Coast and regularly serve Port St. Lucie, Stuart, Fort Pierce, and Vero Beach. Travel farther in Florida is available — ask about your venue and travel on the consult.
What about overtime or travel?
Additional hours are quoted at $250 per hour on most packages. Travel within our regular Treasure Coast area is part of the conversation on the consult; farther Florida dates are quoted with travel so there are no surprises.
How do we book?
Request a free Zoom consult or email booking@djlouiegentertainment.com. Include your event date and venue. A retainer holds the date (not a deposit). Remaining balance is due at our final meeting for the event, when we go over your music and timeline. There is no online self-scheduler — we confirm a time by email or phone (Office 772-785-9343 · Cell 646-201-6729).
What should cocktail hour music feel like?
Comfortable first. Guests should talk without shouting. We keep cocktail hour warmer and lower than dance-floor energy, then ease into dinner — whether you are in Port St. Lucie, Stuart, Fort Pierce, or Vero Beach. More detail is on our cocktail hour tips page under Wedding Tips.
How do you handle ceremony sound?
We plan processional and recessional cues, wireless mics for vows and readings, and a clean handoff into cocktail hour. Outdoor and indoor Treasure Coast setups need different placement — we map that on the Zoom consult so the ceremony stays calm.
Will the grand entrance feel over-the-top?
Only if you want that. Some couples want big energy; others want a short, warm intro. We write names and song cues with you so it feels like your wedding — not a nightclub MC bit.
